Support families in slums break out of generational poverty.
A child's education only matters when it matters to the whole family.
For Children
We are founded by passionate Bangladeshis to transform the lives of slum dwelling families in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
LHC runs a primary school with over 130 students. We keep the kids in school all day with nutritious lunches and afternoon home work help sessions. Many kids have no supervision when they go home, so we become their second home.
For Mothers
We build strong relationships with parents so they value education (something they never got) and keep the kids in school. We provide practical training to help mothers become decision makers in their household, specifically:
- Adult Literacy Classes
- Life Skill Training on Nutrition, Hygiene, Women's Health, Savings
For Dhaka
Can the next big entrepreneur or role model come from the slums? We think so.
We support women self starters who have great ideas but missing the tools and resources. We developed vocational training programs in embroidery and clothes tailoring that give them market competitive skills.
We also launched the Waterlily Enptreneur Competition in collaboration with local businesses to provide business basics training and seed funding for those who want to take their ideas to the next level!
